Welding Studs Manufacturer for CD & Arc Stud Welding

Weld studs are fused to the base metal instead of being driven through it: in capacitor discharge (CD) stud welding, the stud’s weld tip burns a short arc and the stud is forced into the molten pool within milliseconds; in drawn arc stud welding, a ceramic ferrule contains a longer arc for larger diameters and heavier sections. Both processes need access to only one side of the workpiece and produce a joint stronger than the stud itself, with no protrusion on the reverse side and no hole to seal afterward.
Because there is no hole to drill, seal or rework, weld studs are the efficient detail for automotive sheet assemblies, electrical grounding points, switchgear and enclosure fabrication, industrial equipment and general steel fabrication. Threaded weld studs leave a full external thread ready for mating parts, while headed types give a controlled weld base for attachments where threads are not needed. At production rates, a stud welder replaces drilled-and-tapped details and two-sided bolting with a single one-side operation.
The same welding principle covers insulation welding pins, which fix insulation blankets, heating elements and sound-deadening materials to ducts, cabinets and vessels. It is a small, fast fastener widely used in appliance and HVAC production lines.
